ASOS Loves

I’m not normally someone who thinks I need new clothes – must go have a look on ASOS, I’m much more likely to think Topshop. I think though that I might have found a good alternative.
Image 1 of ASOS Suede Studded BackpackI’m not going to lie, I can’t afford this and if I’m being honest most of what’s on this page, but if I win the lottery this weekend this would be the first thing on my list.

Image 1 of ASOS Premium Spike Jewel Cross NecklaceI like big statement necklaces. I would die for this one even though it looks heavy as hell. I just love the combinations of colours in it.

Image 1 of ASOS Jumper With Embroidered BoatsMe and boats just don’t get on – I’m spectacularly sea sick. But I might be able to make an exception for this jumper.

This is definitely not what I was looking for when I was looking for hats, I was thinking more of the knitted woolly kind. It’s freezing outside, well if you live in England it is, if you’re living somewhere hot then you’re probably laughing you’re pants off right now. Even though it wasn’t the kind of hat I was looking for, I’m pretty sure I could be talked into buying both this one and the black version.

November Wishlist

Like most of the items that make it to my wishlist again this month most of then are quite expensive, which at the moment is not a good thing – I have next to no money and what I do is being quickly spent on my college course. Not fun times.

Image 1 of James Perse Long Sleeve Casual TeeThis top is surprisingly similar to the top that I’m wearing now except this one has longer sleeves. Even the colour is the same as the bottom of my top, I’m loving this colour at the moment. I’m going through a phase where I love anything that’s slightly on the loose side, I have a ridiculous amount of oversized jumpers that I live in. I’m talking buying a UK size 20 jumper instead of the 6 that I normally am, the looks that I got of the lady on the till when she asked who it was for and i said me were hilarious.

If you’ve been following this blog for a while then you’ll already know of my love of statement rings, if not then you now know and I hope you enjoy your visit. In my opinion the bigger the better and seeing as this one would cover at least three and maybe just a bit of my little finger then this was always going to be high up on my must haves list. I love that even though the actual design of the ring is incredibly simple, it still manages to make a big statement. What I don’t like about this so much is the price, at £85 it’s a little on the pricey side, so as much as I love it I don’t think that there’s much chance of me owning it. A girl can dream though, can’t she?

Image 1 of ASOS Premium Crystal Shard Burst Necklace

I think that this is going to be another thing that goes on my as much as I love it, I don’t think that I’m going to be lucky enough to end up owning it. I’m thinking the closest that I’m going to get to owing this is coming up with a DIY. Cue sad face. I couldn’t tell you exactly why I fell in love with this necklace but, it was love at first sight when I came across it on Asos. The colours in it are just gorgeous.

The Chelsea boots that I brought in the kids section at Asda a couple of months ago are fast wearing out. I love them to bits, they go with everything, I can walk around in them all day and they keep my feet nice and warm. Honestly if you haven’t got a pair I demand that you go out and get a pair and while you’re out if you can fit in anything from the kids section go and have a look, occasionally there are some amazing pieces that you can pick up at really good prices. If I could realistically afford it these River Island would be the perfect replacement. Especially with the metal strip around the toe area that sets them apart from other Chelsea boots a little.

Really starting to wish that I could get a job that wasn’t just each summer, the money from this year’s never going to last.

DIY – Lego Brick Necklace

A few months ago I brought the Face Hunter book, in it is this amazing picture.

For me this brings back so many memories of playing with Lego for hours on end as a kid. I had and still have a ridiculous amount of Lego hiding in a box under my bed. I loved the stuff and if I’m being honest, I still do. I remember going to Lego Land and it was honestly like being in a dream land. This photo just made me want to get my bricks out again and have a good play, so giving a similar necklace a go seemed like the perfect excuse.

What you will need:

– Lego bricks

– super glue

I ended up making slightly different shape that the rectangle used in the picture, to get the shape I used I used these bricks…

I then put these together to create this shape.

I then made fifteen of these, three in each of the five colours that I used – red, black, yellow, white and blue. I tried other combinations and colours but they just didn’t seem to work as well as the ones in the photo did, so I stuck with those colours.

Once I made them I then started linking them all together. I took of the top of each one of the links off and connected them together. You could connect them as you’re going along if you want, it doesn’t make that much difference when you do.

Your resulting necklace will then look something like this.

Once you’re happy with the colours and their order you can then start glueing it together. I’ve left one of the end bits unstuck, it does go over my head without having to undo it, it’s just a bit easier to get on and off. It also means that if I decide that I want it a little longer then I can add a few extra links. I haven’t quite decided if I’m happy with this length yet.

Hopefully I can get a picture of it actually on someone up tomorrow, I just need to get one of my friends to either model it or take a picture of me wearing it.

Pink Haze

So how amazing is this shoot by Eleanor Hardwick for Bullett. the answer is very amazing considering that I only stumbled across it while I was researching the 80s for my college decades project. I have no idea how I ended up here from what I was googleing, but somehow I did and I’m actually quite glad I did. I don’t think this is going to fit in with any of the work that I’m doing st the moment, but I’m thinking that they could be a great starting point in the future.

September Wish List

It feels like forever since I’ve done one of these posts – actually when I think about it probably is. It’s also quite late on in the month to do one as well.

bunting A5 stitched notebook

One of the big things that I want this month is one of the stitched note books from Paperchase. Unlike most of the things that I put on my wish lists,  I do actually need one these for the fortnightly lectures that start in a few weeks time. I can’t decide what one I want though there’s so many of them and they’re all so cute and adorable. I think I might have to go into my local store sometime over the next couple of days and have a look at them in person.

This one I’ve accepted that I’m not going to be able to afford, it’s either this or the deposit for my art trip to New York. And I’ve gone for New York, it’s somewhere that I’ve always wanted to go. The Cambridge Satchel Company do make some amazing bags and it’s one of those things that I think will have to go on my list for the future and it is one of those things that I will get, I don’t think that the classic satchel will be a big no no any time soon.

Instant Nail Effects Magnetic - Violet

Instant Nail Effects Magnetic - Blue

This one I’m thinking could be a good use for all the Boots points that I’ve clocked up over the summer. I’ve been looking into getting a nail varnish like one of these for a while now, I was a little dubious about how well they would work until I saw someone at work wearing some that looked really good. So I think it’s time to invest in one. I love the colours of the Barry M ones too. I’m thinking of trying either the purple or the blue one, not sure which one to go for. I think I’ll eventually end up getting both, I just can’t quite afford to get them both on my points yet, so the second will have to wait for me to have a few more meal deals.

I’m loving cable knit jumpers at the moment and this would go perfectly with the burgundy pair of jeans that I brought that I have had a nightmare finding something that doesn’t look hideous to go with them. I brought them thinking that they would go with pretty much everything that I owned, turns out they were just slightly the wrong shade for what I had planned, but the colour was too amazing for me to take them back.

Marc by Marc Jacobs

I think that the closest that I’m ever going to get to owning this ring is my Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume. As a student anything Marc by Marc Jacobs is totally beyond my price range. If I dove into my savings from the summer I could afford it, but again it’s back to the this or New York thing I had earlier. It’s an amazing ring, enough of a statement that it looks good, but at the same time it doesn’t look as if the front of it’s annoyingly heavy. I want it so badly it’s ridiculous.

Is there anything that you’re particularly lusting after this month.

Etsy Finds

Sterling Silver Honey Knuckles II

I love this ring. It’s just so unique, a definite conversation starter. It’s just amazing. Need I say any more.

Vintage early 90s Versace classic V2 Unisex shirt Blouse

I wouldn’t say that my style really includes vintage in it but I think that for this Versace shirt I might be able to make an exception. I really like how the whites not a flat white and that the pattern isn’t in your face, it’s nice and subtle.

LPM Redesigned Vintage Floral Fishtail Dress Size Medium

I love this type of dress and although when I first saw the print it reminded me of the interior of our families caravan, its really growing on me. It’s one of those things that if I could really justify dipping into my New York Fund for then I would, but I don’t think that I really need it, so instead it’ll stay in my imaginary wardrobe and somebody else will be lucky enough to get it in their wardrobe.

Vintage Polka Dot Cream Blouse Size Medium

Unlike the last shirt this shirts print has a slightly bolder print, though still not overpowering. Such a shame that I would want it to be a closeish fitting shirt and it’s a medium and would be huge on me.

The Colmar Clutch - Fisherman & Butterscotch, knit crochet color blocking clutch, fold over clutch, size MEDIUM

My limited knowledge of knitting and crocheting would leave me thinking that this amazing bag has been crocheted. Having said that I wouldn’t swear on it and if anybody knows otherwise then feel free to correct me. Anyways this is such a unique bag. I want one so much, as a student I don’t really think that I can afford it but there’s always Christmas.

Today I’m wearing…

image

It’s been a while since I’ve done an outfit post and if I’m being honest, it feels a bit weird that I’m wearing clothes that aren’t either work clothes or my jammies at the moment, I’ve live in one or the other since I started my summer job a couple of months ago. It was even more weird that the dress that I was wearing was something new, it’s been a long time since I’ve really had enough money to buy something. The dress which I got from H&M was an absolute bargain at what I think might have been £12.99.

I have to say that I really regretted wearing this as soon as I left the house. Working in an air conditioned building that has it’s own climate has meant that I don’t really know what the weather has been like. I thought that it was going to be a relatively cool day and when I got dressed it was. By the time that I got into town I was sweating buckets. My feet were the worst, I was wearing boots that I spent all of last winter wearing – not a good idea on a hot day in the middle of summer. Not something that I’ll be doing again in a hurry, I think that those boots will be will be hidden away until the weather changes a little.

Does anyone else think that I’m standing a little wonky? I can’t decide if I look a little weird standing the way that I am, or not.
